Organic Premium dried Halman Apricots with kernel from Ladakh

Remember the delicious Ladakhi Halman apricots? Some of you got to savour them in August and before we could place more orders, the weather turned and the apricots ripened all at once. In order to save whatever produce they could, the farmers harvested the apricots and dried them.

Solar drying without chemicals takes longer than sulphiting. The organic dried apricots are now ready and Edible Routes is happy to bring them to you, just in time for the festive season.

The Halman Apricots are grown in Kargil and Leh without any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. They are smaller than the apricots usually available in the market. They are dried in solar dryers and the fruit is kept in tact, so watch out for that seed! They may not look like much, but they pack a lot of flavour and nutrition.

The crop is intimately associated with the culture and traditions of the region because it is one of the major sources of livelihood.
